Abstract:

For the past 10 years, the Road Weather Management Program (RWMP) has periodically evaluated its effectiveness in helping improve the transportation system's performance during adverse weather using sources that include program records, literature reviews, Internet searches, and State DOT surveys.1 To date, four assessments have been conducted and reported in 2009, 2011, 2013, and 2015. This flyer summarizes the current progress, successes, and needs relating to the practice of road weather management in the United States from the 2017 performance measure data and evaluation.
