The safe movement of permitted oversize/overweight loads requires coordinated efforts of all stakeholders. This document contains recommendations for law enforcement escorts. These guidelines have been developed after examining current practices of law enforcement escorts, best practices recommendations of law enforcement escorts, comparative analyses of state regulations , and post-crash accident investigation recommendations from National Transportation Safety Board.
