Florida is among the top states with collisions due to fog, smoke, and heavy rain. Most recently, a crash on I-75 near Gainesville, Florida, resulted from combined fog/smoke, leading to a pile-up of a dozen cars and a half dozen tractor-trailers. Eleven died and 18 injured.
