This study evaluated the effectiveness of the falling weight deflectometer (FWD) for determining the presence of voids under concrete pavement slabs at bridge approach locations. It also evaluated the deflection improvement, after the slabs with voids had been undersealed with polyurethane, by using the AASHTO ‘rapid void detection procedure’.
