Abstract:
Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) user services are surface transportation services that can be provided by some aspect of ITS. These ITS user services document what ITS should do from the user's perspective. A broad range of users are considered, including the traveling public as well as many different types of system operators. This ITS User Services Document consolidates the descriptions of all 33 current user services into a single document. Prior to creating this document, the user services existed in a variety of places and formats. In addition, the information provided in the definition of a user service has varied widely. The primary objective of this document is to provide a single place where all the user services are described in a consistent manner. If additional ITS user services are defined in the future, this document will be updated to include them.
