• Abstract:
  The Texas Department of Transportation desired to evaluate an alternate mailbox support system for use in Texas. S-Square(R) Tube Products manufactures a system that is adaptable for use with single, dual, and multiple mailboxes and is considered to provide the desired ease of installation and maintenance. Two full-scale crash tests were conducted to evaluate the safety performance of the S-Square(R) Tube Products dual and multiple-mailbox mounts in accordance with NCHRP Report 350. The S-Square(R) Tube Products mailbox system successfully passed all requirements of NCHRP Report 350 and is considered ready for field implementation in single, dual, and multiple mailbox configurations.
