Abstract:The FY 2009-2012 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) is a four-year program of highway and transit projects developed to fulfill the requirements set forth in the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 (ISTEA) and its successors the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21) and in the Safe Accountable Flexible & Efficient Transportation Equity Act – Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU). The FY 2009-2012 STIP totals $16.584 billion with $7.4 billion for highway improvements and $9.184 billion for transit capital improvements and operating assistance.
