    • Abstract:
The Coastal States Organization's (CSO) Climate Change Work Group prepared this second annual report to further explore the current and future roles of state coastal zone management programs in addressing climate change. The accomplishments of the work group this year include the following: Testimony before Congressional committees, federal agencies and other coastal conferences to inform these groups of the role of state coastal zone management programs in addressing climate change; Completion of a survey to further delineate not only the unmet needs of coastal states in regard to climate change planning and data, but an attempt to quantify the cost of those unmet needs; Providing an information exchange among coastal states and territories; and Working to identify the various coastal groups working on climate change initiatives to reduce redundancy. The Final Report of the 2007 CSO Climate Change Work Group remains the most comprehensive assessment of the various states' coastal program's climate change initiatives as well as the statement of national policy needs. The 2007 report is attached as Appendix B to this 2008 report.
