• Abstract:
  The purpose of this Immediate Actions publication is to assist operators and other transit agency personnel who may encounter potential or actual life-threatening events involving criminal activities or terrorism. In such heightened risk situations, the transit employee may have only seconds to recognize, observe, and assess activities or incidents. The IAs in this document are focused on protecting a transit agency’s employees, passengers/patrons, and anyone else working in the vicinity. Section A provides general background information about the IA process and Section B describes the procedures and provides samples of immediate action instructions (called IA Matrix). Each transit agency will need to study the IA instructions and determine the best actions for their system and operation.
