Development, Theory, and Design of the Image Motor for Automative Applications
The Image Motor as presented in this Report is ready for prototyping. There are several things that still need to be done in order to further verify this machine. The first prototype needs to be built and lab tested, then three more need to be built and tested on a car. Along with prototyping, more research needs to be done in order to improve the motor design presented in this Thesis. From there, further research needs to be done in order to apply this machine to an electric vehicle, and finally a full statistical study needs to be done in order to determine what exactly needs to be done in order to make electric vehicles viable. The next step with this motor involves building and testing a prototype. This prototype will be built by one of various motor manufacturers around the area. The prototype will then be installed in the test-stand built by the senior design students and tested using IEEE STD 112 2. Load testing will be done by building a bracket to connect to the dynamometer, and the dynamometer will be used for the load test.
