RWMP is currently engaged in a project to evaluate the potential benefits of road weather connected vehicle
;
applications. Of particular interest are the potential improvements in safety, reductions in travel time, improved
;
travel reliability, reductions to environmental impacts related to road treatment, and other possible benefits. The
;
project includes the development of road weather connected vehicle applications concept of operations and
;
benefit-cost analysis (BCA) of those applications. The concept of operations was completed and is documented in
;
a companion report entitled “Concept of Operations for Road Weather Connected Vehicle Applications”. Th e
;
BCA was conducted in two phases; Phase I focused on evaluating safety benefits and Phase II evaluates the
;
additional benefits including mobility, reductions in environmental impacts, and reductions in operational costs.
