Abstract:
Adams NHP owns three trolley vehicles that were purchased in the early 2000s and, while their accrued mileage remains low, they have reached the end of their useful lives due in large part to vehicle parts becoming unavailable. Both the original trolley vehicle manufacturer as well as the wheelchair lift manufacturer have since gone out of business. Based on information gathered on the existing conditions of the shuttle service and park visitation, several vehicle options and business models were considered. The final recommendations call for a smaller trolley-type vehicle fleet that has more universal components, as well as suggestions for changing the operational business model for the service.
