• Abstract:
  During the summer of 2010 (September - October 2010), the Volpe Center collected ; collected baseline acoustical data at Fort Davis National Historic Site (FODA)at ; two sites deployed for approximately 30 days each. The baseline data collected ; during this period will help park managers and planners estimate the effects of ; future noise impacts and will help to inform future park planning objectives such ; as creating soundscape management plans, as well as the development of an Air ; Tour Management Plan (ATMP), which provides for the regulation of commercial air ; tours. The sound sources of concern at FODA include developments near park ; boundaries, air tours, commercial and private aircraft activities, and requests ; for special use permits for noisy activities. This document summarizes the ; results of the noise measurement study.
