• Abstract:
  During the summer (September – October) of 2010, Volpe Center personnel deployed ; acoustic measurement system at Fort Bowie National Historic Site (FOBO) for ; approximately one month. The baseline data collected during this period will ; help park managers and planners estimate the effects of future noise impacts and ; will help to inform future park planning objectives such as creating acoustic ; resource management plans, as well as the development of an Air Tour Management ; Plan (ATMP), which provides for the regulation of commercial air tours. The ; sound sources of concern at FOBO include developments near park boundaries, air ; tours, commercial and private aircraft activities, and requests for special use ; permits for noisy activities. This document summarizes the results of the noise ; measurement study.
