Abstract:The purpose of this report is to characterize the
concentration, load, and yield of selected water-quality constituents transported by stormwater from SCDOT section shed
and maintenance yard facilities. From March 2010 to January 2012, storm samples were collected at five locations that
received stormwater discharge from the Ballentine (1 outfall),
North Charleston (2 locations on Turkey Creek), and Conway
(2 outfalls) facilities and analyzed for nutrients, fecal indicator
bacteria, trace metals, suspended sediment, and synthetic and
semivolatile organic compounds.
