• Abstract:
  This document describes the results from a job analysis that was conducted for the position of Freight Conductor. Key aspects of the position were identified, including main tasks and knowledge, skills, abilities, and Tech Report characteristics (KSAOs) needed to carry out the requirements of the job successfully. The job analysis process is provided in detail, including meeting agendas, survey questionnaires, and a finalized list of job tasks and KSAOs identified by subject matter experts (SMEs). Conclusions report the specific results of the job analysis, including information from SME focus group discussions regarding demands and strains of the job. Implications for training and development are also discussed.
