As a repository, ROSA P retains documents in their original published format to ensure public access to scientific information.
This document was prepared as a resource for the Oregon Department of Transportation's (ODOT's) 1997 Research Strategic Planning Meeting held in November 1997. Included in the paper are relevant socioeconomic trends, including social, environmnetal, economic, and political. Construction technology, condition assessment and monitoring, transport technologies, information technology, and human factors research are also discussed. Finally, the results of a survey distributed to Department personnel, local transportation agencies, and vendors regarding transportation issues and research needs are presented.
