Use of improved structural materials systems in marine piling.
This report contains the results of a study to evaluate the feasibility of manufacturing precast, prestressed marine pile from polymer concrete, polymer impregnated concrete, internally sealed concrete and latex modified concrete. Included in the report are (1) a description of the laboratory work that preceded the preparation of the specifications, (2) a description of the manufacturing process and problems with each system, and (3) the initial results of the short term performance of the various structural concretes.
