Abstract:The wearing surface on many fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composite bridge decks have cracked or delaminated after only a short time in service. Consequently, a set of tests were conducted on four wearing surface products in order to select the material with the best performance with respect to service conditions on an FRP deck. The products were evaluated for tensile strength, failure strain, bond strength, and abrasion resistance. Results were summarized in a ranking matrix, which showed Urefast PF60 should provide the best performance of the products tested.
