This document focuses on human factors research that supports the Intelligent Vehicle Initiative (IVI). The status of the problem areas within categories used often by the human factors community to organize human factors process is discussed. A similar discussion with emphases on the IVI program is then presented. Recommendations are suggested which would intensify the established processes.
