• Abstract:
  This report documents an investigation into practice in other states regarding the location of telecommunication towers and fiber-optic cable in highway right-of-way. The study was commissioned by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development in February, 1998. The investigation involved a review of the literature and a survey among state Departments of Transportation and telecommunication companies. ; The report first summarizes practice as documented in the literature. The surveys are then described followed by an analysis of the survey results. The report is concluded with an interpretation of the results and a list of recommendations.
