ROSA P serves as an archival repository of USDOT-published products including scientific findings, journal articles, guidelines, recommendations, or other information authored or co-authored by USDOT or funded partners.
As a repository, ROSA P retains documents in their original published format to ensure public access to scientific information.
Seven Key ITS Application Goals emerged from the document review, key contact interviews and input from attendees at ITS committee meetings. They were to use the ITS applications to improve the overall safety of the transportation network, to improve traffic management, to reduce non-recurring congestion, to more effectively dissenminate traffic information to the traveling public, to promote more efficient modal utilization and to improve administrative efficiencies and operational safety.
The study identified ITS initiatives ($71,486,165) already in place, programmed or planned, developed a package of recommended improvement projects and established priorities based on the availability of funds and developed a strategy for addressing ITS needs.
On going process to address future integration needs will be conducted by the ITS advisory council which was recommended by the committee.
