• Abstract:
  The objective of the study was to determine if a correlation exists between the Potential Volume Change Test and the Potential Vertical Rise Test as compared to the Third Cycle Expansion Pressure Test. In order to accomplish this objective, samples of soils in selected areas of the State were obtained and subjected to the above tests. A direct comparison was made between the Third Cycle Expansion Pressure Test data and that of the Potential Volume Change and Potential Vertical Rise Tests. The coefficient of determination (R2) was used to indicate the quality of "fit" achieved by the regression and was obtained by use of a computer SAS software package.
