Abstract:

The objective of the program is to alter driver behavior around large commercial vehicles through education and enforcement. The key components of TACT are communications/media coupled with enforcement and evaluation. The program consisted of two media campaigns (earned and paid), informational signage and three enforcement blitzes. These efforts were focused in two areas in Kentucky. The evaluation will determine if there is a significant change in public awareness and driver behavior in the vicinity of large commercial vehicles and roadway safety.
