A manual for using the highway noise analysis program "Noisesim".
Noisesim was developed under a National Cooperative Highway Research Program study by Boilt, Beranek and Newman of Van Nuys, California. According to the NCHRP, Virginia was the first state to implement this program and utilize the findings for predicting noise simulations for future highways. The implementation of this computer program was viewed as a stopgap measure to enable Virginia to simulate what noise conditions would be on future highways, and it was intended that this program would be used until such time as Virginia could develop a more sophisticated model which would answer many of the questions that this program would not.
