Abstract:

This report presents the results of the 1999 Pavement Condition Survey for the State of California. It gives an overview of pavement conditions, vehicle miles traveled on rough pavements, needs classification, and pavement performance. For each of the twelve districts, pavement conditions, allocations, and changes in needs are discussed. Challenges in project planning, corrective and preventive treatments, and anticipated challenges are also discussed. Appendices cover a range of information, such as road type descriptions, the California Pavement Management System, and tables giving figures on maintenance and rehabilitation expenditures.
