The purpose of this working paper is to provide insight into the options that are available from which to design the Gateway Traveler Information System (TIS). This working paper will discuss each option in a general manner without becoming overly technical. It allows for an in-depth look at all of the available technologies and their potential applicability in the Gateway. The Gateway design options will be combined with the Gateway user needs and lessons learned from other similar Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects
;
to produce the Gateway System Definition Document and the Gateway Functional Requirements Document.
