Abstract:

This study assesses the possible number of small commercial satellites to be launched to Low Earth Orbit (LEO) in the period 1995-2005. The information provided reflects an Office of Commercial Space Transportation (OCST) assessment of overall trends in the mobile communications services and LEO commercial satellite markets, with the ultimate purpose of projecting future space transportation needs to LEO. Tables and a chart included.
