The FAA Corporate Systems Architecture (CSA) Initiative is intended to enable the FAA to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the use of Information Technology (IT) throughout the FAA as well as meet specific federal mandates such as the implementation of open system environment requirements. The CSA will implement a "Corporate Information Environment" (CIE) with enhanced data quality and access and improove the ability of the FAA to use IT to meet mission goals at reduced cost. The CSA supports the implementation of six initiatives: Core Architecture, Business Process Improvement (BPI), Data Management, Corporate Software Engineering, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and IT Security.
