Abstract:

On December 17-18, 2015, the Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO) convened a travel modeling working group meeting for the purpose of discussing Dynamic Traffic Assignment (DTA). Participants discussed the uses of DTA, challenges in using DTA and research needs. Challenges that were discussed included the modeling of transportation supply (the network, including traffic controls), making the appropriate translations from trip-based transportation demand, convergence, calibration and validation.
