Abstract:The Federal Radionavigation Plan (FRP) has been jointly developed by the U.S. Departments of Defense and Transportation to ensure efficient use of resources and full protection of national interests. The plan sets forth the Federal interagency approach to the implementation and operation of radionavigation systems. Volume II is devoted to the user requirements (civil and military) and the processes for determining them. Both general and specific requirements related to various applications and phases of navigation are discussed. Present and future anticipated needs are also addressed. The requirements of civil and military users defined in Volume II for radionavigational services are based upon the technical and operational performance needed for military missions, transportation safety, and economic efficiency.
