Abstract:The report summarizes information gathered during a study of the application of electronic techniques to geographical position determination on land and on inland waterways. Systems incorporating such techniques have been called terrestrial radiodetermination (TRD) systems. Their most common application to date has been to locate and track a large number of vehicles in real time. Other uses are envisioned for the future. The report describes the performance of several leading systems that employ TRD. These systems are or have been operational to some degree. Cost data are also given. The report complements and extends the information given in the previous interim report
