A laboratory with real-time simulation capability is being developed for simulating the command and control functions related to transportation systems. The initial effort in Advanced Air Traffic Control Techniques is defining and evaluating the most effective role of controllers in future ATC systems. The present laboratory status, the simulation models and structure, and programming techniques that are being used are discussed. (Author)
