• Abstract:
  This report prepared in April 1993 describes the operations witnessed and the relevant information obtained by nine members of the FRA/Volpe Center High Speed Guided Ground Transportation Safety Task Force during 9 weeks of observation of maglev developmental certification testing at the TVE Transrapid Test Facility at Emsland, Germany. Those observations were part of an extensive review of the German safety certification process being applied to the Transrapid (TR) system for application in Germany. Additional certification testing was performed during the spring of 1993.
