Abstract:

Falling weight deflectometers (FWDs) are used by pavement engineers to predict a pavement's expected life and then decide how fast to maintain that pavement. For it to give reliable data, the FWD should be recalibrated once a year at one of 4 regional FWD calibration centers run by SHRP.
