Aviation News was published from 1961-circa 2002 in the interest of aviation safety and to acquaint readers with the policies and programs of the Federal Aviation Administration (previously the Federal Aviation Agency). The magazine focused on flight safety by creating awareness of technical, regulatory, and procedural matters affecting the safe operation of aircraft. The magazine’s title changed over the years between FAA Aviation News, Aviation News, and FAA General Aviation News.
