Abstract:This document describes the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2012 State Planning and Research Work Program for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT). This program is prepared and submitted according to provisions of Title 23, United States Code, regulated under 23 CFR Part 420. Part 1 of the work program describes the Planning activities and Part 2, the Research activities. The work program is developed and updated annually in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration. Planning activities to be conducted in FFY 2012 include data collection/analysis/reporting, mapping, public involvement, and planning coordination/studies. Additional efforts are planned for data collection related to air quality and pavement structural condition. Funding for the planning portion of the work program is approximately $11 million. Research activities for FFY 2012 will include eight new projects and eight continuing projects in addition to five projects jointly shared with the Oklahoma Transportation Center. Some of the focus areas for current research projects include: design/construction/maintenance of infrastructure and safety. In addition, ODOT is participating in 17 national pooled fund projects. Funding for the research program totals nearly $5 million in FFY 2012.
