  The Bureau of Railroad Safety (BRS) News Highlights, also known as the Office of Safety News Highlights, was produced by the Federal Railroad Administration between 1970-1972 following the Federal Railroad Safety Act of 1970. The newsletter communicated updates from Washington, D.C. and what affected the individual regions regarding organization, procedures, and policy. It reported to Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) employees about what was happening in the Office of Safety, in FRA, and in the U.S. Department of Transportation.
