Abstract:

This report studies characteristics of truck traffic on various classes of highways in Texas using the data available form the Texas Manual Count Annual Report between 1977 and 1983. Regional stratifications were devised based on the predominance of "special-use" industries and the existing highway-district boundaries. Various truck classifications were analyzed as a proportion of total vehicular traffic and total truck traffic by different road classes.
