Abstract:In November 1959, runway 4-22 was commissioned at New York International Airport. This is the first runway available with high-speed turn-offs designed in accordance with the findings of the University of California report* on exit taxiway location and design. The points of tangency of the turn-offs are at 3330 and 5730 feet from the runway threshold.
