Abstract:The U.S. National Blueprint for Transportation Decarbonization (“Decarbonization Blueprint”) serves as a holistic roadmap to achieve a future national transportation system that is clean, safe, secure, accessible, affordable, and equitable — while providing sustainable transportation options for all people and goods. The Blueprint is the product of a groundswell of local and private sector climate action and deep stakeholder engagement that led to a unique cross-agency partnership between the Department of Transportation (USDOT), the Department of Energy (DOE), the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It concludes that the United States must decarbonize our transportation system by supporting transformative bottom-up and middle-out action. Together, we can build Convenient, Efficient, and Clean transportation options for all.
