Abstract:Before 2020, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) Library’s born-digital publications were stored in many places. Along with an increased need for digital delivery, the library needed a place to store all MnDOT-produced publications and make them available. Speakers Marilee Tuite, Library and Information Services Manager for the Center for Transportation Studies at the University of Minnesota, and Maddie Kuncio, Digitization and Reference Librarian at the MnDOT Library, share their experience in building a digital library. Tuite discusses the need for a digital library dedicated to MnDOT publications and the process of working with a state vendor to develop the repository platform. Kuncio provides a live demo of the MnDOT Digital Library’s public interface and the Drupal-based back end.
