The Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI) hosts the Swedish National Library for the transportation research sector. Speaker Birgitta Sandstedt provides an overview of the transport research portal and its sub-portals. For example, the Library won a contract with the Swedish Energy Agency based on a proposal for a subject portal. The proposal aimed to collect, structure, and disseminate research and development covering the program’s output. Sandstedt demonstrates several of the Library’s sub-portals and how they connect with larger databases such as the Library’s catalog. The Library actively seeks new business opportunities, new ways of getting funding from contracts with external customers, and ways to maximize impact and usefulness of their knowledge and experience.
