Abstract:

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is expanding its Auto Safety Hotline to make it accessible to deaf and hard of hearing individuals by means of teleprinter. The hotline inauguration ceremony honored the memory of Bernard M. Ames, a deceased NHTSA employee who worked to make transportation safer for hearing impaired individuals.
