    This study investigated the use of data fusion of two different traffic counting and classification methods. While sensor level fusion using thermal and optical images was investigated, it was not found useful by our approaches. The decision-level fusion method for pneumatic tube and infrared video is presented. The method was validated at three different locations in South Carolina. Errors in vehicle counts and vehicle classification were calculated using manual data collection from recorded videos as the baseline. In all locations, the results of data fusion are more accurate in both vehicle counts and vehicle classification when compared to either of the methods alone.

    The total size of both zip files is over 95 GB. The file format .avi is an audiovisual file format. The file extension .png is commonly used for images in Portable Network Graphics file format. PNG is a bitmap graphics format similar to GIF, that uses image compression mainly for web purposes (for more information on .png files and software, please visit https://www.file-extensions.org/png-file-extension). The .bmp file extension is the bitmap file format. Bitmap images, also known as rastar files, are standard, non-compressed bit-mapped graphics format used by Windows and GIS software (for more information on .bmp files and software, please visit https://www.file-extensions.org/bmp-file-extension). The .sqlite file type is a SQL database file. This file functions as an in-process library and can implement a self-contained, server-less, zero-configuration, transactional SQL database engine (for more information on .sqlite files and software, please visit https://www.file-extensions.org/sqlite-file-extension). The .torrent file format is for peer-to-peer file distribution, usually associated with BitTorrent.
