Abstract:

The First National Conference on Street and Highway Safety emphasized the importance of uniformity of traffic laws and regulations, and recommended in its report certain principles which should be embodied in those laws and regulations. In order that those principles might be properly developed on a legal basis, the Committee on Uniformity of Laws and Regulations was created some months ago. In its report the Committee recognizes that the safe, economical and convenient use of the highways requires uniformity in (a) State vehicle acts, (6) State administrative regulations, (c) Local traffic ordinances, and (d) Local traffic administrative regulations.
