  This long range transportation plan (LRTP) is the first of its kind in the Alaska Region. The plan is needed to ensure that the fundamental mission of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), “working with others, to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people,” is advanced through the function of its entire transportation system – from float docks to roads and all transportation related assets in-between.
