This report documents all activities performed as part of the Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) program’s Warm-Mix Asphalt (WMA) Study. The report describes the overall conduct of the project with a focus on the guidelines for recruitment, selection, implementation, construction, sampling, testing, and monitoring of the LTPP Specific Pavement Studies (SPS)-10 “WMA Overlay of Asphalt Pavement” experiment. This experiment was designed to compare the performance of WMA to current hot-mix asphalt pavements and is the first new SPS experiment within the LTPP program since the mid-1990s. Also included in the report are the recommended changes to existing LTPP experiments and practices to more fully incorporate WMA test sections.
