This publication consists of consolidated profiles for the 30 largest transit agencies in the United States. The criterion used to determine these agencies is operating expense. Data contained in each profile consists of general and summary reports, as well as modal, performance, and trend indicators for the 1994 report year. Each agency profiled provides general information and financial information. Specific financial and service characteristics as well as capital funding and performance measures are listed for each mode. The appendices provide aggregate data for the 30 largest agencies which includes the following modes: automated guideway, cable car, ferryboat, inclined plane, trolleybus, and vanpool. Modal data have also been totaled for the primary modes (bus, heavy rail, commuter rail, and light rail).
