This booklet is published by the Missouri State Highway Patrol as an aid to persons who are interested in the traffic accident problem in Missouri. It contains information which provides for a comprehensive look at the Statewide accident problems as experienced in 2005. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is the central traffic accident data collection agency for the State of Missouri. Data on both rural and urban traffic crashes is made available to this agency. Law enforcement agencies throughout the State provide the Highway Patrol with copies of their accident reports. All reports of traffic accidents including those investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol are tabulated and analyzed by this agency. It is thus due, in part, to the continued cooperation of these law enforcement agencies that a meaningful picture of the statewide accident experience is available to interested persons.
